Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. Honors National Pet Week with “Pets & Pals Party”

Offers Low-Cost Microchip Clinic to Benefit Alley Pond Environmental Center and NYC Veterinary Emergency Response Team

In honor of National Pet Week, Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. ― along with the Bayside Animal Clinic, the Terrace Animal Clinic in Great Neck and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation ― is offering a low-cost microchip clinic at the “Pets & Pals Party” that will be held at Alley Pond Park on May 15 from noon to 3 p.m. The park is located at 76th Avenue (off Springfield Boulevard) in Douglaston, Queens.

For a $25 donation, the veterinarians from Central Veterinary Associates, Bayside Animal Clinic and Terrace Animal Clinic will protect your pet with a Home Again microchip. All donations will go to benefit the Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) and the New York City Veterinary Emergency Response Team (NYCVERT).

In addition to the clinic, there will be raffle prizes, rides, games, arts and crafts, giveaways, animal demonstrations, pet adoptions and more. Proceeds from the raffle sales will go to benefit APEC and NYCVERT. Pets & Pals is made possible with the generous funding of the Office of City Councilman Mark Weprin.

Sponsored by the American Veterinary Medical Association, National Pet Week aims to promote responsible pet ownership, celebrate the human-animal bond and promote public awareness of veterinary medicine.

“We at Central Veterinary Associates are proud to sponsor the Pets & Pals Party and we thank Councilman Weprin for providing the funding to make this event possible,” said Dr. John Charos, Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer and Practitioner of Veterinary Medicine, Central Veterinary Associates. “We urge all pet owners to have their pets microchipped. There is nothing more heartbreaking than losing a pet when it runs away or is taken away by someone else. By having your pet microchipped, you are ensuring your pet’s safety and also helping a worthwhile cause.”
