Walk to End Alzheimer'sA Letter from the Long Island Chapter's CEO

Extraordinary people doing extraordinary things! That is what I say about those who support our Walks. This year's Walk To End Alzheimer's was an amazing success with more than 2,100 participants walking and over 4,000 donors donating for our cause. Our national office has asked us to create a "movement," and – without a doubt – you are all on the move.

Congratulations to each and every one of you who participated in this year's Walk. Your efforts on behalf of the Long Island families we serve are greatly appreciated.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

The Nichol family walking to end Alzheimer's.

While it will be at least two weeks before we finalize our Walk day numbers, it was very clear that everyone worked hard to help us reach our goal and I do believe we will get there!

We will continue to post donations to the Walk website and, early next week, I will put out an update, via our enewsletter, as to where we stand at that point.

If you have not reached your goal, it's NOT too late. We will accept Walk donations through December 31st, 2011.

To our staff and volunteers who give their time so willingly – we thank you. Your efforts are our success!
