A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KENNEDY

Our campaign is in full swing! Thanks to the Durso family for their hospitality in hosting a fundraiser for my campaign and my friends who turned out for the fundraising event at Land's End. I also had the good fortune to meet up with Dominick Thorne, who is running for a seat in Suffolk's 7th Legislative District, at Alive After Five in Patchogue. Together, we will work to get the message out that we will #SaveSuffolk.



September 11th Victim Compensation Fund

9-11 Victim's Fund

John M. Kennedy, Candidate, Suffolk County Executive, thanked members of the United States Congress for passing a bill that would allow the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund to be funded for the next 70 years.

On July 12, Congress passed the James Zadroga 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Act, now known as the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act.

"Health Center Delays Cause Host of Concerns"
John Kennedy was quoted by Rick Brand of Newsday on the Bellone administration's delay in moving out of the former Hudson River Healthcare site on East Main Street in Patchogue. The county was supposed to move out in 2015. "They cannot adhere to a simple timeline," Mr. Kennedy said. "Over and over, they have shown they lack the most basic skills to manage."

Durso Fundraising Event
Nissequogue, NY

On July 7, Mr. Kennedy attended a fundraising event at Margaret Durso's beautiful home. Despite the rain, the event was a huge success. Mr. Kennedy thanked all of the donors for their generosity. A special thank you to the ladies of the Smithtown Women's Republican Club for organizing such a great event. Mr. Kennedy thanked everyone in attendance for joining the fight to #SaveSuffolk.

Walter Malone Street Naming Ceremony
Long Island, NY

On July 5, Mr. Kennedy attended the street naming for Walter Malone, who died of 9/11-related cancer. Known as the "Mayor of Commack," Mr. Malone was a retired New York City firefighter who dedicated many years during his retirement working at the FDNY Museum on Wednesdays, earning the moniker "Wally Wednesdays." The community owes Mr. Malone a great debt.
