A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KENNEDY

I was very disappointed to read about the younger Long Island residents looking to move out of the areas where they grew up to more affordable parts of the country. Since #BigTaxBellone was elected, more than 16,000 people have fled Suffolk because of the taxes and fees. We need to keep our residents here in Suffolk!

Bellone & his Democrat Legislators, Renew the Red Light Camera Money Grab for 5 More Years!

On September 4, the Suffolk County Legislature voted 11-7 along party lines to extend the Red-Light Camera Program. John Kennedy blasted the Legislature's decision to continue this program. "It's regrettable that the Democratic majority in the Suffolk Legislature renewed the Red-Light camera program for another five years," Mr. Kennedy said. "It has become clear that the program isn't working. Suffolk's residents realize it's little more than a money grab. Unfortunately, under Steve Bellone, the out-of-control spending, debt and junk bond status is the 800-pound gorilla in the room. As a result of his very poor policy decisions, the people of Suffolk are stuck with the tab."

Kennedy Says Driver's Licenses Should Not Be Issued to Illegal Immigrants

John Kennedy joined New York State Senator John Flanagan at a recent press conference at Suffolk GOP headquarters in Medford, where Mr. Kennedy made it clear that he does NOT support giving driver's licenses to those who are here illegally. "Granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants is a slap in the face to law-abiding citizens and especially to those immigrants who went through the long and difficult process to become legal, taxpaying citizens of this great country," Kennedy said. "We should not be rewarding illegal behavior."

Suffolk legislators voted Wednesday night to keep the county's contentious red-light camera program for another five years. Legislators approved extending the program on an 11-7 vote along partisan lines after more than two hours of debate and another two hours of mostly critical public comments about red-light cameras. "It has become clear that the program isn't working," said John Kennedy. "Suffolk residents realize it's little more than a money grab."
