On Saturday, September 29, Lauren P. Raysor, Esq. hosted a birthday celebration at the Harlem Yacht Club to the theme of “A Few of My Favorite Things.”

A VIP reception was held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with dinner and music from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Attendees enjoyed beachfront and sunset views, a host of culinary creations, a screening of “Woman of Sugar Hill” by Medicine Women Productions, in addition to musical performances by Sage, Clarissa Sinceno, and the Learning Tree S.T.E.M. – Arts School.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Martha’s Vineyard Jazz and Blues Festival and the Learning Tree S.T.E.M. Arts School. Ms. Raysor has been a longstanding supporter of the school through her sponsorship of the school’s annual science fair and volunteering her time as one of the judges.

“On behalf of Lewis and Kirk Music, we wish to thank Ms. Raysor for her support,” said Sheila Baptista, Producer, The Martha’s Vineyard Jazz and Blues Festival and President, Lewis and Kirk Music. “Ms. Raysor has been a very diligent and sincere supporter of women in music, especially in the field of jazz. We are extremely appreciative in celebrating her birthday and this event, which celebrates her philanthropy and giving heart to the arts.”

Ms. Raysor concentrates her practice in personal injury, bankruptcy, civil rights, matrimonial and family law. She has litigated numerous cases over the years, taking more than 35 cases to verdict and has argued before the Appellate Division in the case of Makeda Barnes Joseph v. Universal Music Group. She served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Mount Vernon, where she was in charge of the city’s Law Department.
