Adopt-A-Friend Animal Shelter Software Now Fully Integrated with

Monday, October 5, 2015

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Island Business Group, Inc. (IBG) is pleased to announce a complete systems integration between its Adopt-A-Friend software and the microchipping database. Through this partnership, PetLink microchips will now be included in Adopt-A-Friend’s automatic microchip registration processing that was unveiled with Version 8. This will save time and money for veterinarians and current or prospective pet owners, who will have the added assurance that an animal’s microchip is registered.

Designed for animal shelters, rescue groups and animal control organizations throughout North America, IBG’s Adopt-A-Friend software includes a kenneling module, medical history and report functions, several automated tasks, credit card authorizations and the ability to update 15 pet adoption or lost-and-found websites. It provides essential services to the people and pets in their communities regarding adoptions, impounds and the tracking of complaints and investigations, as well as fundraising, financial management and management of pets and people.

More than 1,000 agencies across the United States and Canada have implemented the Adopt-A-Friend software since its 2007 release. This has led to over one million pet adoptions. With the new microchipping implementation, the software will now also help further aid in pet rescue and recovery for families who opt to microchip their pets.

PetLink microchips are manufactured by Datamars, a leader in the microchipping and RFID industry for more than 25 years. PetLink has a variety of microchips, with pricing to fit every budget. The company’s premium Slim Microchips are made of slim polymer that requires a smaller 14 gauge needle for easy implantation. PetLink microchips include free lifetime registration and free registration updates.

“This collaboration between IBG and Datamar is the latest step in our mission to locate, protect and find lifelong homes for our four-legged friends,” says Janet Simmons, Vice President and Founder of Island Business Group. “With the option to use the cost-effective and easy to use Adopt-A-Friend software in conjunction with the state-of-the-art PetLink microchips, shelters, rescue groups and animal control facilities will be able to offer added pet security to new and existing pet owners.”
