Ben’s Kosher Deli Founder and Deli Man Director Host Movie Screening and Q&A Session at YoFiFest 2015

Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers CEO/Founder Ronnie Dragoon is hosting a Q&A Session and Deli Man movie screening alongside the film’s director Erik Greenberg Anjou on the opening night of the 2015 Yonkers Film Festival (YoFiFest 2015).

Deli Man is a funny and heartwarming film about the history of the American kosher deli and follows the story of the Jewish community through the steps of immigration, assimilation and upward mobility in the United States. In addition to commentary from Mr. Dragoon, the film features the likes of delicatessen connoisseurs and comedy greats such as Jerry Stiller, Philip “Fyvush” Finkel, Alan Dershowitz, Freddie Klein, Dennis Howard and Larry King.

Following the screening, Mr. Dragoon and Mr.  Anjou will host a question-and-answer session that focuses on the traditions of the Jewish-American deli. Mr. Anjou will also discuss what went into the making of the film, which is the third installment his trilogy on Jewish culture, the preceding films being A Cantor’s Tale and The Klezmatics – On Holy Ground.

The event also includes a pre-screening celebration of the culture and cuisine honored by this film, with a friendly “Best Pastrami” contest, in which Ben’s Kosher Deli is a contender. There will also be live music from The Westchester Center for Jazz and Contemporary Music and beverages from Yonkers Brewing Company and Nahmias et Fils.
