While vitamin D is important in regulating calcium in a cat's body, elevated levels of Vitamin D can be extremely harmful to cats. Symptoms usually develop within 12 to 36 hours, and include vomiting, diarrhea, increased thirst and urination, muscle tremors, and seizures.
“We are asking all cat owners who have bought this product to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund,” said Dr. John Charos, President/CEO, Central Veterinary Associates. “Be sure to observe your pet for any symptoms of excessive vitamin D intake. If they become very ill, take them to a veterinarian immediately.”
