Nassau Suggestion Box Presents Haber Family Thanksgiving Turkey Drive
Residents from Across Long Island are Encouraged to Donate Holiday Gift Baskets or Frozen Turkeys
Adam Haber, founder of Nassau County Suggestion Box, is pleased to announce the details of the annual Haber Family Thanksgiving Turkey Drive. The Haber family was inspired to launch this benefit drive due to the continually growing need for holiday gift basket donations in Nassau County. Donations are being collected at Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore, located at 1001 Plandome Road in Manhasset, New York, on Tuesday, November 21 from 12 to 2 p.m. From there, the Haber family will load up a truck and assist with deliveries.
Though the drive will support families in Nassau County, residents from across Long Island are encouraged to participate. Holiday gift baskets (physical basket not required) should consist of one frozen turkey (10-14 lb.), one bag of fresh carrots, one bag of fresh potatoes, one bag or box of stuffing, one can of cranberry sauce, one can of vegetables, four fresh oranges or apples, one fresh-baked pie (apple or pumpkin), one bag or box of cookies and one bottle of juice. Donations of one 10-14 lb. frozen turkey are also encouraged.
Those who are unable to make it to the drop-off event, but would still like to support the cause, can sponsor a holiday gift basket for $40, to be compiled by Holiday Farms in Roslyn, New York. To do so, call Holiday Farms at 516-621-6420 by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 20 to pay for a basket by credit card, over the phone. Holiday Farms gift cards can also be purchased for donations to families in need. Be sure to mention “Haber Family Turkey Drive” when calling.

About Nassau Suggestion Box
After being elected to the Roslyn School Board, Adam Haber realized that there was no direct, transparent way for citizens to voice their concerns about government. That is why he created Nassau Suggestion Box, a nonpartisan forum whose goal is to create a better, more efficient government for Nassau County. Citizens can visit the site and educate themselves about the issues facing Nassau County; submit ideas on how to improve county government; voteand comment on the ideas they like or dislike; learn about the candidates running for office and how they can contact their local elected officials; and participate in weekly straw polls on current issues. The goal of Suggestion Box is to develop a public forum where citizens can learn about important policy issues and let their ideas and views be known.
