Route 25: A Progressive Grassroots Club to Host “Meet the Candidate Night” featuring DNC Vice Chair Michael Blake as Special Guest Speaker
Get Out the Vote Event to Take Place at Yes We Can Community Center in Westbury on September 13
Route 25: A Progressive Grassroots Club is hosting a special Meet the Democratic Candidate Night and Get Out the Vote meeting on Wednesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. The event will take place at the Yes We Can Community Center, located at 141 Garden Street in Westbury. Democratic National Committee Vice Chair Michael Blake will be the special guest speaker. Laura Curran, candidate for Nassau County Executive, and Jack Schnirman, candidate for Nassau County Comptroller, as well as several Nassau County legislative and town candidates, will also be in attendance.
This event aims to not only show solidarity among Democrats through all branches of government, but also to inform residents of the benefits of voting for candidates at the local level. With so much fraud and misconduct infesting the Long Island political system, Adam Haber created Route 25 Club to inform, organize and encourage Nassau County residents to actively participate in the democratic process, and to work to elect public officials who support and represent progressive ideals.
Launched in mid-May, Route 25 is gaining ground among Democratic voters and has found support from key members of the Democratic Party, such as United States Congresswoman Kathleen Rice, Representative for New York’s Fourth District in Nassau County.
“Given the sad state of politics at the local, state and federal levels, we want people from across Nassau County to get involved and help make a change,” explains Mr. Haber. “It is progressive movements like ours that will help make an impact at the federal level. I look forward to Mr. Blake’s presentation at our event and extend a special ‘thank you’ to him for his support of our mission.”
