Event Helps Keep Unused and Unwanted Electronic Devices out of Landfills

Two Brothers Scrap Metal donated the use of a container for Mineola Middle School’s eWaste Drive, which was held on October 28. The drive brought in 5,740 pounds of electronic waste that would have otherwise made its way into local landfills. Residents came to the school to drop off their unwanted and unused computers, hard drives, printers, flatscreen TVs, chargers and other items.

The purpose of the drive, now in its second year, is to help the environment by disposing electronics that are either no longer being used or do not work anymore. The event started last year as part of a project by the school’s Robotics Club. This year, the Robotics Club teamed up with the school’s Environmental Club to promote the Drive to the local community. The staff at Mineola Middle School thanked Two Brothers for its support.
