Waldo Cabrera Discusses “The Multimillion-Dollar Economic Impact of the Arts on Long Island” at LIMBA

COMMACK, NY – On May 31, Waldo Cabrera, an Emmy-nominated video journalist, and Executive Producer of Islip.TV, will be the guest speaker at LIMBA (Long Island Metro Business Action) at the Candlelight Diner, located at 56 Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack. The topic will be “The Multimillion-Dollar Economic Impact of the Arts on Long Island.”

Mr. Cabrera will discuss the findings of the Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 study, conducted by Americans for the Arts in partnership with the Long Island Arts Alliance. The Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 study is the sixth national study of the economic impact of the nonprofit arts and culture industry.

According to the Long Island Arts Alliance, the local non-profit arts and culture industry of Nassau and Suffolk Counties generated $330 million in economic activity, which supported 4,905 jobs and generated $81.2 million in tax revenues.

During the discussion, Mr. Cabrera will cover the significance of the economic contributions of nonprofit arts and cultural organizations to Long Island, their influence on audience engagement, and their role in fostering community pride. Audience members will gain valuable insights into how these organizations are key drivers of economic growth and community development across Long Island.
