Newton Shows Celebrates 75 Years of Thrilling Entertainment and Family Fun

EAST NORTHPORT, NY – As Newton Shows gears up for its 2024 season, the oldest family-owned and operated carnival company in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk is proud to celebrate its 75th year of providing joy and excitement to communities across Long Island and Westchester.

Founded in 1949 by Lewis J. Newton, Newton Shows quickly became renowned for delivering quality entertainment and unforgettable experiences. Mr. Newton’s idea to introduce the first ferris wheel to Catholic bazaars in Brooklyn and Queens laid the foundation for what would become a beloved tradition spanning generations.

Newton Shows has expanded into a premier destination for carnival goers, offering a diverse range of thrilling rides, games and attractions. Over the years, the company has earned numerous accolades for its commitment to excellence, including the prestigious Circle of Excellence Award, recognizing Newton Shows as one of the top carnivals in North America.

Throughout its history, Newton Shows has remained a family affair, with Mr. Newton’s sons, John, Mike and third generation grandson John Jr., leading the charge into the modern era of entertainment. Despite health challenges prompting Lewis into semi-retirement in 1990, Newton Shows continues to thrive.

Newton Shows will kick off the 2024 season with the 22nd annual Scarsdale High School Carnival on April 12-13. With a commitment to delivering safe and thrilling experiences for guests of all ages, Newton Shows invites communities far and wide to join the celebration.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our 75th year of fun this year,” said Mike Newton, Co-Owner of Newton Shows. “We remain dedicated to upholding the values of quality and safe fun that has defined our company for generations.”
